Research For Music Videos : Skills Audit

The research that had to be carried out for our As Thrillers wasn't  as in-depth as the research that had to be carried out for The A2 practical work. I think our research skills have developed in the following ways :

Last year we were told the Genre of what our practical work would be " Thriller " this year we were given allot more freedom which meant alot more research !! although it was narrowed down to having to be a British artist it still took a while searching the internet & using our groups limited musical knowledge  for an appropriate song .

We have also been introduced into the different ways which music videos are filmed to "thrillers " last year our  thrillers had to have a clear narrative and through the research of watching many music videos we have realized that the majority of music videos are the  opposite .

 Also Last year we didn't have to worry about any copyright laws or asking for permission from record labels  This was a fairly new concept to most of us which we grasped quite quickly .
